Soft as SATTIN
It’s the year of the woman. Female empowerment is where the focus is at. We have seen it from the marches and all the cases going on. There’s more than one way to display feminism and all and we have found an artist that represents it all. We have a next prolific female artist coming out of Kingston Jamaica her name is Sattin and she’s leaving impressions on every show and on every track. She’s been working the circuit for a few years doing intros for Bernie Man, Khago and few others. Participated in a writing camps and worked along side some prolific producers from Push A Yute, Full Range Ent and others. When we asked Vivian T from Push A Yute he was quoted as saying she could be a contender for the near future.
She’s the first lady of K20 Records.
Her latest single “Ready Fi The Love” is doing well on the Dancehall circuit. Its a very sexy and suggestive song but one that shows a female strength and needs of her partner in the bedroom. Its a topic thats not new its just who delivers its best and yes she delivered. It’s on the latest compilation album coming out of the camp.
Not many women are able to pull off the sultry sexy and provocative style and not go over the edge. Well Satin and the production team up by K20 has got that part right. The aim isn’t to make comparisons but it’s clear her role models are like Lady Saw, Beyonce, Tanya Stephens, Diana King. Her performance and delivery is a reminder of all the above.
We are interested to see how far this young lady will go and with a single like this it’s easy to raise eyebrows. So with her next single presently in the works lets see what happens next. The future looks bright for Sattin.
