Good day readers & fans of Flames and the culture of Urban Music. Gonna talk about a producer slash manager and someone who wakes up with the intent to make each day better for his company and culture. Sometimes we have to take time out to mention the people behind the scene that drives the industry and create some of the intensity and buzz we feel as fans and just lovers of music in general. Its like Michael Jackson saying no Quincy Jones no Thriller. There are just certain people who make the people and the things around them better. Does Push A Yute ring a bell.
We are talking about Vivian Thomas. The founder & ceo of Push A Yute Entertainment Ltd. The company is an entertainment company based in Jamaica and has been a staple and an architecture of the culture Reggae, Dancehall and night life there in general. His aka is Pusha and his focus is making sure the youths have a future and all the projects or acts they touch they will make something of them. Take note he does have a great team around him and they are very determined and talented. They have given us such acts as Tanto Blacks, Deva Bratt, Brett Ikon, Indie Allen. They presently mange Lisa Hyper. He’s a Grammy nominated producer (Daville Krazy Love Album) and one of the famous engineers from the late 90’s that was stationed at Jammys studio.
His team is more concerned about creating and curating. In terms of productions Push A Yute has done over six compilation albums & projects (Pree Dem Riddim, Rebound Riddim, Warrior Riddim, Push A Yute Presents EP, System Riddim, 3 Kings EP.
In terms of singles, Gappy Ranks – Nuh Ready Fi Die, Munga – Charge, Deva Bratt – Paper Chase, VoiceMail – Touching, Indie Allen – I’ve Been Waiting, Iwayne – Fuzed, Trilla U – Never Give Up. The list goes on.
Countless beats, compositions and writings are all apart of this units forte and strengths. Now for the nightlife aspect they have a strong role there as well. They are all the way involved in several night life events but the two marque shows are.
They are the promoters and host of FUZED the eclectic edition. Its a live stage show series thats kept 3 times out the year. Its a seasonal event but the stage has boast the likes of Sizzla Kolanji, IWayne, poets like Meeka Nyota, producers like Jeremy Harding. They are also the promoters of DUB LOVE. A show that is more based around the indigenous factors of reggae and the genres roots.
All and all we just wanna say thank you and salute the team. Tandra Jhagroo engineer & manager, Lisa Hyper (signed performing artist), Nakia (street team), Omar (camera man). They are certainly on a mission and with there latest project out BOSS UP by Lisa Hyper who they also manage it seems they will be ending the year strong.
