Good day readers and fans. It’s been a hectic summer and all and a lot of new music is coming out. It’s also a time of year when we can look out for albums, eps and generally a bunch of singles. It’s

We are gonna talk about one such EP. The first official EP and full body of work from Felecia Gooden aka “Lisa Hyper”. Most Dancehall fans and patrons for the last decade and more knows her story have danced to a few of her hits like “My Man That”, “Nuh Stress Me Out” fea Beenie Man, “Bills”. Well her latest project hasn’t let down the fans or lovers of Dancehall.

“Boss Up” is the title of her debut EP, which was produced by Push A Yute Productions. The team took a solid year to sculp this six track project. Credits also go to Full Range Ent which is run by Tandra Jhagroo. The title lives up to the billing as from start to finish Lisa shows her lyrical skills which made her house hold name.

Tracks like “Tuff Love” is a clear indication of where she has been and where she is heading. With clever word play Lisa let’s the work know her focus is business and getting her projects out on the road. The instrumental is a solid dancehall beat and will have all everyone dancing. “Safari” is a nice display of using the metaphors of wildlife into the bedroom and female dominance. “Wanted” a duet with Brett Ikon is a catchy romantic song which shows the softer side of Lisa. It also welcomes Brett Ikon to the main stage. “Tightest” produced by Full Range Ent is a jazzy hip hop mix that allows Lisa again to show her lyrical skills on instrumentals that she is not accustomed to being on. Over all the track suited her as much as the EP. “Lose To Win” is a track that a lot of women can relate to. It speaks of the everyday struggle of women and the lose to win cause and effect. It’s a good listen.

It’s fair to say with what we have seen of Lisa in the last three months she has completely changed the mold or broken the old mold. She’s confident and it shows in her songs, videos and demeanor. Lets say we appreciate the work Vivian Thomas and the team is doing. “Boss Up” will be distributed by Hapilos Ent. Pre order is the 25th August and it will be on all platforms September 1st.
